West Central Community Action belongs to a collective of Community Action Agencies, which are non-profit private and public organizations established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America's War on Poverty. Community Action Agencies help people to help themselves achieve self-sufficiency within their community. By partnering with churches, individuals, and organizations willing to help, S.C.C.O. provides assistance in the areas of home and housing related issues. Home furnishings, home repairs, service projects, and temporary housing are all within the scope of their focus, which lead them to the next step of mentoring those we help, in order to produce lasting change in their lives.
