Our Story
In the heart of Harlan, tucked inside Fresh Encounter Church, The Grounds offers more than just expertly crafted beverages – we provide a welcoming space where parents can relax while their children play, and where regular customers have become cherished friends.
Led by managers April Williams and Anna Kienast, our team is dedicated to creating creative coffee drinks and fostering community in our unique family-friendly environment.
The Grounds is part of Fresh Encounter Church's ministry. Our mission is to provide a place for people to connect while enjoying some of the freshest beans and finest coffees.

A unique setting with a nursery area featuring toys and comfortable seating for parents with young children, plus an outdoor playground when weather permits.

Free WiFi available for those looking to read, work, or simply connect with others in our welcoming atmosphere.
Creative Coffee Creations
From traditional espresso drinks to innovative seasonal specials, including our customer favorite: brown sugar cinnamon shaken espresso. We offer a wide variety of beverages including lattes, frappes, smoothies, and many other specialty drinks to satisfy any taste preference.
Fresh Food
Enjoy made-to-order breakfast sandwiches prepared fresh on our griddle, alongside an array of baked goods crafted by our dedicated baker, Amanda Hol.
